666 hollow-weenie

Green Bays annual hollow-weenie dark bicycle ride is this friday night. Ride starts at 6:66 pm from the Daily Buzz downtown. Very dark route, scary terrain, and riders can "costume up". This ride will be hosted by Marty, so expect a "killer" pace.....

What a treat!

This guy was paddleboarding on the upper fox today. Here he is strapping up his stumpjumper xtracycle for return home in GB. Very urban! He has a prototype 'grill-o-cycle' for a bicycle tailgate. Cool stuff. Hope to see him on the ccc. And by the way, what a sweet day it was for outdoor activity.

CCC updates

WEIRDO's might take notice of some new events coming to the annual chocolate clunker classic bicycle parade, starting at 10am saturday october 18 from KaVarna. There will be the weird sprint, a 3/4 mile charge of the Ashwaubenon trail as fast as your clunker can go. (or you?) Next up is the slow ride. Forward movement required for a short distance. Last one moving wins. Next challenge is the popular skid contest, on St Joseph's hill!! Then to top all, the traditional "round-up". Saddle up, partner......Questions?

Fat Tire Telemark

WEIRD will be at Telemark resort Sept 9 - 21. CFTF on 13-14. Lots of new singletrack in the area. WEIRD is in a condo at the CAMBA terrain park trailhead. WEIRDOS welcome to stop/stay with us. The disc golf course at telemark is wild and wacky! Good times...lots of trail running and swimming. This is the weirdest trip of the year

August 16, Saturday Night, Full Moon, 10:38 pm, Bike @ the Moon, Green Bays annual night bike prowl. Launch from Titletown Brewery / Leicht park. WEIRDO"S will add some sort of brick before and/or after this ride....so inquire if interested. White light in front, red reflector rear required. Most riders will clunk this one, but ride what you want. Pace will be parade, with WEIRD games during....??

levis epic

Levis Trow trails east of Neillsville were the site of a WEMS event (usually 12/6/3 hours) that included instead a 100 mile, 50 mile, 25 mile option, and the state championships for singlespeeders at 25 miles. I entered the 100, and finished 75 miles in11 hours 12 minutes. (TYVM). You had to do 1hr30m laps (12.5 miles) to finish in 12 hours. Organizer "allowed" for light and kept course open for 13 hours. Based on your splits, if you were back by 730pm, you "might" be able to go out for one more. I "could" of done another lap, but I had enough fun. Toad Road & Upper Hermosas downhill, and the Switchback uphill were by far the highlights of the lap. Weather was perfect. 60's. Rain in the morning where you knew it was raining out, but you weren't getting wet. Strong winds in the morning, gentle breezes by afternoon. Bluebird evening.These trails are as epic as they come. Actually, they are IMBA epic designated trails. Get over there and ride, but call me...I wanna go too

This Saturday @ neilsville 25 mile. I'm doing the 100 mile. They do not close the course. Ride it!

Clunker rides

Two clunkers coming up this summer
The Breakfast of Champions clunker on June 28. 730am from the Daily Buzz downtown. Three bakeries on this parade pace ride. You will need a state trail pass for this one. Daily or seasonal
The Cowboy clunker is on July 27. This is our first night time clunk. 6pm from downtown, we'll ride out to the Oneida Casino for the free 730pm show of Junior Brown. Lights needed for ride back at 9pm.

WEIRD is now going to try having scheduled workouts and skills classes. I am still working on the details, but something like basic skills at 2pm and 4 pm. Advanced skills at 630pm. Three days a weeks. Saturday events at 6am and 9am. Discuss....

Astor rummage ride
